Different pallet dimensions

Different types of pallets are available in a variety of sizes. Depending on the purpose of the pallet and the space available, you can look for the pallet in the dimensions that best suits your operations. Within the transport world you will often use pallets with the Euronorm. These are pallets with standardized dimensions. They are based on the basic size: 600x400 mm. By basing all kinds of product bases on this basic size, it is easier to organize transport and storage. This is because different components fit logically in, next to and on top of each other, allowing optimum use of space.

However, these dimensions are not mandatory to adhere to. You can therefore choose the dimensions that best suit your needs. In addition to the standard sizes within Kruizinga's wide pallet range, you can also order custom pallets. These are made entirely based on your requirements. This allows you to have suitable pallets for projects with untraditional shapes, sizes and functions.

Pallet types

The pallet type affects the storage capacity and use. At Kruizinga, you will find 4-way pallets and nestable pallets. It is important that you know the difference between these two types and which one best suits your intended use.

4-way pallets

The 4-way pallet consists of a double layer, which is why it is also called a block pallet. With a 4-way pallet, there are four gripping options for a forklift, allowing it to be inserted from the front, back and both sides. This makes it a very easy-to-use and maneuverable pallet option.

Nestable pallets

You can save up to 50% storage space with nestable pallets because they can be easily stacked. The pallets fall within each other when stacked, taking up less space than a block pallet, for example.

Material types

At Kruizinga, you will find pallets made of different materials. Per sector, purpose and application, the best suitable material may differ. Below we list the different materials for you.

Wood pallets

As the name suggests, wood pallets are made of wood. This makes them very sturdy and, thanks to the cheaper type of material, still inexpensive to purchase. They are therefore widely used in various storage and transportation industries. However, it is important to use and store wood pallets in dry, and well-ventilated environments. Does a wood pallet get wet or stand in a poorly ventilated area? Then mold and damage can occur. However, the advantage of a wood pallet is that the wood can be replaced fairly easily, which also makes it a very durable choice.

Plastic pallets

Pallets made of plastic are easy to clean. Therefore, these are indispensable in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. They are also very popular in clean room environments. The material does not retain moisture and is lightweight, making the pallet very maneuverable. These pallets have a longer lifespan than wooden pallets and are weather-resistant and recyclable. In addition, Kruizinga's plastic pallets comply with hygiene regulations for food and microelectronics.

PP regrunalate + HDHP pallets

These pallets are a sustainable alternative to plastic pallets. They are made with a mixture of recycled polypropylene plastic (PP) and small grains of HDPE plastic. Like plastic pallets, these are maneuverable due to their light weight, weather-resistance, recyclable and easy to clean.

Wood fiber pallets

Wood fiber pallets are also known as disposable pallets. These pallets are made of pressed wood and are therefore intended for onetime use. They are inexpensive and space-saving, as they are nestable pallets. In addition, they are lightweight and recyclable, which makes them popular among web shops, manufacturing companies and distributors. Wood fiber pallets are great for one-time export and, like the wooden pallets, should be stored in a dry and ventilated area.

Aluminum pallets

Aluminum pallets are lightweight, anti-static and environmentally friendly. Our aluminum pallets are guaranteed to come with waterproof welds, are rustproof and free of burrs. Because they are easy to keep clean, aluminum pallets are well suited for use in sterile or hygienic environments such as clean rooms and catering establishments. In addition, they can be used for heat treatment and are used by processors of hazardous materials.

Steel pallets

Steel is a material that is corrosion and acid resistant, can move heavy loads and is easy to clean. This allows them to be used in sterile environments. Steel pallets are also moisture-resistant, rust-proof, waterproof and highly abrasion-resistant. As a result, they do not need to be fumigated, allowing you to save in production costs.
